With a history spanning 10 years of providing crucial business networking, engaging speakers, and useful breakout sessions; the 10th Annual Business Forum should definitely be on your calendar. With past speakers such as Bill Walton, Ronnie Lott, Dwight Clark and Michael Gerber; the Annual Business Forum has a history of providing electric speakers who share passionate messages about success and business. This year's keynote speaker Marcus Allen knows all about success and making come backs.

Keynote Speaker:
Marcus Allen, who played professional football with the Los Angeles (now Oakland) Raiders and the Kansas City Chiefs from 1982 to 1997, is one of the few football players in history to win the Heisman Trophy, the National Football League (NFL) Most Valuable Player Award (MVP) and the Super Bowl MVP. Among his other accomplishments, he was named NFL Comeback Player of the Year in 1993. Following his successful football career, Allen became a respected sports commentator and spokesman, working with CBS Sports, the NFL Network and online sports information websites.

Mel Minarik, Ph.D., is a lecturer and Graduate Director for the School of Community Health Sciences as well as an adjunct lecturer with the College of Business at the University of Nevada, Reno. Prior to academics, she was an executive in hospital administration for 20 years in California. She teaches classes in leadership, organizational sciences, and personal and integrative health. Her research interests are in the areas of personal leadership, cognitive sense-making, the health service continuum, stress management, as well as spirituality and health. These interests overlap in her role as a non-denominational minister, both inside and outside the university setting.

Bret L. Simmons, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Management in the College of Business at the University of Nevada, Reno.
