OnPACE Leadership Modules:
Below is a list of training modules that help build on necessary skillsets to improve the way you lead and relate to others. Review the modules below to understand more about this incredible program, and how the individual modules slowly rebuild a person into a more effective communicator and problem solver.


MODULE 1 – MARCH 24 – 3PM TO 7PM
INTRODUCTION TO LEADERSHIP
This module will introduce members to the various aspects of leadership. The purpose is to develop a broader understanding of leadership and its applications and implications to personal and professional life. The program focus is on understanding the different personality types and how to best work with, and to best lead, others.


EXPECTATIONS:

• Develop a clearer understanding of what leadership is and what it is not.
• Practice the fundamentals of leadership.
• Gain an understanding of your dominant communication style.
• Create a greater familiarity among members of the Leadership Series.



MODULE 2 – APRIL 14 – 3PM TO 7PM
LEADERSHIP & PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
This module will continue to advance the practice of leadership and delve deeper into the different personality types and how to effectively deal with individual preferences. The program will also focus on setting goals to improve personal and professional effectiveness.


EXPECTATIONS:

• Understand and practice a proven process of achievement.
• Maximize your leadership effectiveness by understanding who you are working with.
• Create personal and professional goals to motivate and improve performance.
• Continue to strengthen the relations among members of the Leadership Series.



MODULE 3 – MAY 5 – 7AM TO 11AM
COMMUNITY AWARENESS & INVOLVEMENT
This module introduces how a leader can become more active by giving-back to the community. The focus is providing access to the ways a person can get involved while fostering a commitment to civic responsibility.


EXPECTATIONS:

• Understanding the importance of community involvement.
• Types of Sparks Chamber committees to join.
• Awareness of the types of non-profit organizations and what they offer.
• How to get involved with a non-profit organization that fits your personality, interests and professional goals.
• Types of Sparks Chamber committees to join.




MODULE 4 – MAY 19 – 3PM TO 7PM
GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS & INTERACTION
This module educates participants on the functions of government and how it impacts our daily lives. The focus is on understanding the various processes of government and how to effectively interact with it.


EXPECTATIONS:

• Understand how city/county government works & how it affects you as a citizen.
• Increase awareness of proposed changes before they happen and how to get involved.
• Recognize the different roles between City Manager and elected officials.
• Get to know your elected officials and what they do for you.



MODULE 5 – JUNE 16 – 3PM TO 7PM
MASTERING YOUR COMMUNICATION
This module provides participants with the essential tools to communicate effectively with other people. The program focus is on practicing positive communication habits that propel participants along the path to career success and personal achievement.  


EXPECTATIONS:

• Practice vital listening strategies that dramatically improve communication.
• Improve your interpersonal communication to establish immediate rapport.
• Communicate skillfully and confidently with other people.
• Communicate in a clear and organized manner to create mutual understanding.



MODULE 6 – JULY 14 – 3PM TO 7PM
EDUCATION SYSTEMS
This module gives greater insight on the importance of education. The program focus will be on how to positively affect the reach of education as a vital way to enhance your personal life, your company and your community.


EXPECTATIONS:

• Knowing the myths and realities of the educational system.
• Identify the pitfalls and roadblocks of the educational system.
• Knowing the responsibilities of citizens to the educational system.
• Understanding of how the educational system is run.



MODULE 7 – AUGUST 11 – 7AM TO 11AM
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & CAREER ADVANCEMENT
This module provides a greater awareness of career and business development practices. The program focus is providing the tools to advance your career and to grow the organization you are working in.
 
EXPECTATIONS:
• Developing a plan of action for your business position.
• Retrieving the business development resources that are available to you.
• Understanding and using the skills to run a successful meeting.
• Learn how to use parliamentary procedure to run and control meetings.




MODULE 8 – SEPT 1 – 7AM TO 11AM
THE UNLIMITED POWER OF TEAMWORK
This module helps strongly unite team members to reach common goals through a greater awareness of how each member contributes to the success or failure of the team. The program focus is on practicing the essentials of successful teamwork. The program is guaranteed to challenge team members to examine strengths and opportunities for growth, while appreciating the diversity of each member of the team.


EXPECTATIONS:

• Strengthen cohesiveness and cooperation among team members.
• Win the support and committed involvement needed to achieve goals.
• Increase the awareness of team member’s unique contribution.
• Increase proficiency of team communications skills.
• Create a “can-do” encouraging spirit that uplifts all team members of the Leadership Series.



MODULE 9 – SEPT 22 – 2PM TO 7PM
PRODUCTIVE MEDIA INTERACTION
This module gives a thorough understanding of how to get your message out through the various media sources. The program focus is to help participants have a greater media impact on their business and community efficacy.


EXPECTATIONS:

• Dealing effectively with TV, Print, Radio & the Internet.
• How to pitch your business and brand to the media.
• What to say to the media to promote your position.
• Ways to get the media to share your story with the public.



MODULE 10 – OCT 13 – 11AM TO 1:30PM
LEADERSHIP REPORT LUNCHEON
This module allows leadership participants to articulate and practice public speaking skills by giving a report on their PACE experience.
 
EXPECTATIONS:
• What have you learned from your PACE experience?
• What result have you gained from your PACE experience?
• What part of the PACE program was most valuable to you?
• What do you plan to implement as a result of your PACE experience?




MODULE 11 – SPARKS CHAMBER LUNCHEON – DATE -TBD- 9:00AM TO 2:30PM

GRADUATION CEREMONY LUNCHEON
This module reveals and implements the roles and structure of running a formal event. Participants will know the behind-the-scenes key functions of hosting an organized and successful public affair. 


EXPECTATIONS:

• Recognizing and appreciating the accomplishments of others in a formal way.
• Practice and incorporate the components of operating a public event.
• Debriefing of PACE and discussion on the many benefits of being an Alumni.
